The case was filed June 6 in U.S. District Court in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Gregory Matus, a Fort Lauderdale resident, said Sport Squad, Inc., which does business as JOOLA, marketed and sold pickleball paddles as if USA Pickleball had approved them.

Laurel man sentenced to 37 months for conspiring to ship stolen cars to West Africa
According to a press release from the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office, Rodley Balthazar, 30, a Haitian citizen residing in Maryland, worked with others to rent and steal cars from companies such as Avis, Hertz, and others.
A Laurel man was sentenced to 37 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release, for conspiring to steal and export cars to West Africa.
