    When Stephanie and Mary Kalinich faced a tax sale on their Arnold home, the sisters sold it to a friend with a real estate background, thinking they would be allowed to stay. Now they are facing eviction and have no place to go.
    Two sisters, Stephanie and Maribeth Kalinich, fell behind on the taxes of their Arnold home after their mother passed away, then sold their $400,000 home to an acquaintance. He said they could stay as long as they paid rent. But he never paid them the agreed-upon price, and when they fell behind on rent, he moved to evict them.

    A Revolutionary War hero’s home is for sale in Annapolis. Maybe it’s a good thing.
    Laura and Kevin Smith knew they wanted a historic home. So when the Sands House came on the market in 2019, they bought it from a preservation group. Now, five years and a major renovation later, they’ve decided to sell the home of Revolutionary War soldier William Sands, one of the Maryland patriots who died on Aug. 27, 1776, in the Battle of Long Island.
    The original house, which may have been started as early as 1681, was expanded in 1908. The expansion added water and additional space. A half-light door with handblown glass panels that once led outside now separates the older and newer sections.
