Tired of waiting for Old Man Winter to relax his grip?
Well, blizzards be damned, Baltimore County is leaning into spring full-steam ahead.
This week is chockful of local musical acts and brand-new exhibits from Goucher College Art Galleries, and it kicks off the Maryland Home and Garden Show for aspiring green thumbs and interior decorators alike.
Take a look at our offerings below.
Do you remember ... ?
Wednesday, 5-6 p.m.
No, not the 21st night of September, but at Goucher College Art Galleries you can take a guided tour of how memory affects art. The exhibit, Mnemosyne — also the name of the Greek goddess of memory, remembrance and time — at 1021 Dulaney Valley Road in Towson, asks visitors to consider how what they remember shapes their world.
Essex eats!
Thursday, 5-8 p.m.
The Essex Community Development Corp. is inviting you to eat out at the LoonAsea Restaurant on the banks of Hopkins Creek at 207 Nanticoke Road in Essex. Ten percent of your meal at the waterfront pub and eatery will support the local community organization’s efforts to revitalize the Eastern Boulevard corridor.
Concert and conversation
Friday, 79 p.m.
Join Philly-based songwriter Chris Kasper at Manor Mill for a jam session featuring the Americana singer’s latest album, “Sunlight In An Empty Room.” You can buy tickets for $27.50 to Kasper’s show inside the mill at The Loft at 2029 Monkton Road in Monkton.

No amount of nor’easters can keep folks from the Maryland State Fairgrounds this weekend. Drop by the Maryland Home + Garden Show at 2200 York Road in Lutherville-Timonium to catch more than 400 exhibitors and home improvement experts. And you may even catch Matt Blashaw from HGTV’s Yard Crashers.
