Gather friends and family (and hide the dogs).

On Saturday night, Fourth of July fireworks will light up the skies across Maryland — and don’t be surprised if the shows burst with extra oomph to commemorate America’s 250th birthday.

Whether you’re in the city, the suburbs or beyond, here’s where to watch some of the dazzling celebrations.

Baltimore

Downtown

  • 9 p.m., Inner Harbor, Pratt and Light streets. Free.

The city’s signature Fourth of July show is expected to draw thousands to the Inner Harbor, where fireworks will be lit from a barge located between Point Park and the Domino Foods refinery. Check out Visit Baltimore’s website for more information on transportation and parking.

Cherry Hill Arts & Music Waterfront Festival

  • 1 p.m., Middle Branch Park, 3001 Waterview Ave. Free.

Head to South Baltimore for the 10th annual Cherry Hill Arts & Music Waterfront Festival, which concludes with a colorful drone show over the waterfront at 9:30 p.m. Make it a full day by seeing musicians like reggae singer Mykal Rose, soul singer Debórah Bond and Baltimore club producer Mighty Mark, who grew up in Cherry Hill.

    Park & Relax at the BMI

    • 6-10 p.m., Baltimore Museum of Industry, 1415 Key Highway. $100-$165.

    The Baltimore Museum of Industry’s waterfront lot offers prime viewing for the Inner Harbor’s fireworks.

    For $100, your group gets a parking spot and can set up lawn chairs to watch from the museum’s campus, while a $165 ticket provides a parking spot and the choice of an indoor or outdoor table for up to 10 people. The John Lamkin “Favorites” Jazz Quintet will perform before the fireworks.

    Baltimore County

    Cockeysville

    The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Jonathon Heyward, will perform a variety of pieces, including “The Star-Spangled Banner,” the Armed Forces Salute, the “Star Wars” theme and the “1812 Overture,” as spectators take in the fireworks from Oregon Ridge Park.

    Nottingham

    • 2 p.m., Fullerton Park, 4304 Fullerton Ave. Free.

    This festival, now in its 63rd year, will feature live music by the Lutherville Rock School, For Now, and Awaken before the fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. Food vendors will include Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, BullsEyes Pit Beef, Quinn’s Ice and more. Get there before 7 p.m., when Fullerton Avenue closes to traffic.

    Catonsville

    • 3 p.m., Catonsville High School, 421 Bloomsbury Ave. Free.

    Starting at 3 p.m., the 79th grand parade kicks off at Frederick Road and Montrose Avenue and will feature the Ravens marching band. Then, at 6:30 p.m., the Family Fun Fest at Catonsville High School — with its carnival-style food and live music — leads attendees into the fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.

    Towson

    • 9 p.m., Loch Raven Technical Academy, 8101 LaSalle Road. Free.

    For more than half a century, families in the Towson area have gathered for fireworks, which will again be launched from Loch Raven Technical Academy’s lower soccer field across from the Ravenwood Shopping Center.

    Anne Arundel County

    Annapolis

    • 6:30 p.m., West and Main streets. Free.

    Start your patriotic evening in downtown Annapolis with a parade of marching bands and vintage cars at 6:30 p.m. The Naval Academy Band will then perform at the State House grounds (100 State Circle) at 7:45 p.m., before fireworks light up the sky above Spa Creek starting at 9:15 p.m.

    Howard County

    Columbia

    • 5-10 p.m., Columbia Lakefront, 10275 Wincopin Circle. Free.

    Before fireworks light up the Columbia Lakefront at dusk, attendees can enjoy the live sounds of Chasing Straights as well as Dom Flemons and the Traveling Wildfires, along with food trucks like Bebo’s Mac Shack, Smokin’ Dough, Taco Joint and more. Look for free parking at downtown locations such as The Mall in Columbia, the Merriweather District and Sterrett Place North.

    Harford County

    Aberdeen

    There are no bad seats to watch the holiday spectacle at Ripken Stadium. The “Red, White & Boom!” show will feature live music, face painting, axe throwing and more activities ahead of the fireworks.

    Bel Air

    • 6 p.m., Rockfield Park, 501 E. Churchville Road. Free.

    After the 6 p.m. parade beginning at Idlewild and Main streets, spectators will watch fireworks set off from Rockfield Park. The show will start at approximately 9:30 p.m. Check out this map for the parade route and road closures.

    Eastern Shore

    Ocean City

    • 6 p.m., North Division Street or Northside Park, 200 125th St. Free.

    You’ve got two viewing options for Ocean City’s fireworks. Watch from North Division Street, where live music kicks off at 6 p.m. with The Broken Hearts, a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers cover band. The entertainment continues with speed painter Jessica K. Haas and the Neil Diamond tribute act, Real Diamond.

    Attendees can also watch from Northside Park, where festivities start at 8 p.m. with music from DJ BK and Radio Ocean City before the fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.

    Frederick County

    Frederick

    • Noon-dusk, Baker Park, 121 N. Bentz St. Free.

    Music fans will have their pick between two stages at Baker Park for Frederick’s Independence Day celebration. The band shell near the park’s Talley Recreation Center will feature, among others, the blues band Honest Lee Soul, while 99.9 WFRE’s Party in the Park stage will be headlined by Curb Records singer-songwriter Kelsey Hart.

    The event concludes with fireworks at dusk. Recommended viewing spots include the Fleming Avenue swimming pool area, the Frederick High School lawn and the Carillon area of Baker Park.

    Westminster

    • 4-10 p.m., Carroll County Farm Museum, 500 S. Center St. $10 per car (cash only).

    Carroll County’s largest Fourth of July fireworks display will feature numerous local food vendors, kids’ activities and live music from Park Avenue Band and The Guard. Fireworks will begin at roughly 9:30 p.m.
