The Inner Harbor is getting a new destination for steak. We think.
Posters in the former Kona Grill location at 1 E. Pratt St. say a branch of the STK Steakhouse chain is “coming soon.”
But key details about the new eatery appear to be shrouded in secrecy. For example, signs outside the restaurant advertise happy hour prices of $3, $6 and $9. But it’s unclear what customers can purchase for those prices.
Neither the restaurant’s owners nor the property managers responded to requests for comment. Representatives for MCB Real Estate, which owns the building, also did not respond to multiple requests for comment.
Matt Achhammer, community liaison for Baltimore’s Board of Liquor License Commissioners, said the agency had not received any transfer requests related to that location.
However, a permit application submitted to the city’s Department of Housing and Community Development includes a restaurant floor plan that features an extensive outdoor lounge and patio as well as a large interior dining room.

The Kona Grill and STK Steakhouse chains are owned by Denver-based The ONE Group Hospitality.
The ONE Group previously announced plans to convert some underperforming Kona Grill branches to STK Steakhouses.
The company also owns RA Sushi Bar Restaurant, which closed in Baltimore under murky circumstances.
