A 43-year-old man was shot and killed in a residential Pikesville neighborhood Thursday morning, police said.
Tyrone Luster had sustained at least one gunshot wound when police found him around 5:25 a.m. at 8300 Scotts Level Road, according to a news release from the Baltimore County Police Department.
Officers found Luster outside the home at that address, said Trae Corbin, a spokesperson for the police department.
Luster was taken to the hospital where he died, officials said.
Detectives are investigating.
Luster was shot near a single-family home on a suburban street. The home is across the street from Winand Elementary School.
There have been at least two other homicides in Baltimore County this year, including the police-involved altercation that left Samuel “Big Sam” Elsworth Brown Jr. dead. His death was ruled a homicide by Maryland’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Tuesday.
Another man was found beaten and unresponsive in Dundalk after officers responded to reports of a burglary Jan. 13, police said. The man, 51-year-old Christopher Stafford, was taken to a hospital.
He died Feb. 13, and it was ruled a homicide by the medical examiner’s office.
