A 72-year-old pedestrian was killed in Baltimore County on Tuesday afternoon when a car struck her on Owings Mills Boulevard, police said.
The woman, Wanda Grasu, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Baltimore County Police Department. The driver of a 2021 Toyota Highlander was traveling southbound on Owings Mills Boulevard and approaching Strawhill Court in the Glyndon area when it struck the woman, according to the release. The crash happened around 2:40 p.m.
The identity of the driver was not immediately released. Police did not say whether they would face charges because the crash remains under investigation.
There have been nearly 40 fatal crashes in Baltimore County this year, according to statewide data. Prince George’s County leads the state with 50 fatal crashes in 2026, the data shows.
