Two children were taken to the Pediatric Trauma Center at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center after a crash involving a school bus and another car in Davidsonville, officials said.
The crash at Central Avenue and Cottage Farm Way was reported at 7:41 a.m. Thursday, Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesman Marc Limansky said. The road was closed for about two hours but has since reopened, he said.
The children taken to the pediatric trauma center were in the sedan, not the school bus, said Don Clime, a public information officer for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
Clime said he did not know what type of vehicle that was involved. Images of the crash shared by the Fire Department show a four-door vehicle with heavy damage to the front passenger side.
Bob Mosier, a school system spokesperson, and Clime both said they did not know whether the two children transported to the trauma center were students at Davidsonville Elementary.
The adult driver of the vehicle was taken to the Anne Arundel County Medical Center for “minor injuries,” Clime said.

There were 28 children on the school bus, which was en route to Davidsonville Elementary School, Mosier said. Most of the children, 17 total, were released to their parents, he added.
Two students were taken by ambulance to Anne Arundel Medical Center for “minor injuries,” Clime said. The remaining nine students were also transported for evaluation, largely as a precaution, Clime said.
Officials could not immediately identify the specific ages of any of the patients. Limansky said an investigation is ongoing.
