Four pedestrians were injured Saturday afternoon when a vehicle struck them on a sidewalk, according to the Annapolis Police Department.
Officers responded at about 3:14 p.m. for a reported vehicle collision involving multiple pedestrians on Compromise Street, heading toward the downtown area. Officers found four adult victims who had been hit while walking on the sidewalk near St. Mary’s Street.
According to police, the vehicle was traveling northbound on Compromise Street when it left the street and struck the pedestrians. The driver remained at the scene and was not injured.
Emergency Medical Services provided care at the scene. Two of the pedestrians suffered minor injuries and were treated on-site. The others were flown to a local shock trauma center.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Traffic along Compromise Street may be diverted or delayed as the scene is cleared, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes.
