Montgomery County Police on Tuesday identified a man killed crossing the street in Silver Spring when he was struck by a vehicle on Monday.

Irrael Lopez Garcia, 39, died at the scene at the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Gail Street. The crash occurred about 2:09 a.m.

Lopez Garcia, who had no known address, was struck by a 2009 Honda Civic that was traveling east on Veirs Mill Road, police said. The driver of the Civic remained on scene after the collision.

The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
