A Silver Spring man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month outside the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, according to Montgomery County Police.

Terrance Brainell Williams, 41, was arrested at his home and charged with first-degree murder.

Police accuse Williams of fatally shooting 41-year-old Quentin Tyrone Davis at about 11:37 a.m. on May 14 in the conference center’s parking lot. When officers arrived, they found Davis with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation determined that Davis was walking through the parking lot toward the hotel when he was approached by the suspect, who shot Davis and fled, police said.

Surveillance footage showed Williams exiting a car and walking toward the hotel. After the shooting, he returned to the vehicle and drove away on Rockville Pike, police said.

Investigators determined that Williams and Davis knew each other.

Williams is jailed at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held pending a bond hearing. It was unclear on Wednesday afternoon if Williams had retained an attorney.
