Montgomery County Police are searching for a suspect who fatally shot a man Thursday morning in a parking lot outside the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, officials said.
The shooting occurred around 11:37 a.m. The 41-year-old victim was identified Friday as Quentin Tyrone Davis, who had no known address.
Davis was walking alone through the parking lot toward the hotel, where he was staying, when an unknown suspect confronted him. The suspect shot Davis and ran from the area, police said.
First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Davis died on the scene.
Montgomery County Police spokesperson Shiera Goff said during a news conference Thursday that the suspect did not attempt to flee using the nearby Metro station, which is the North Bethesda stop.
βWe do not have any suspect information available,β Goff said. βOfficers are canvassing the area.β

Detectives are gathering evidence and looking for witnesses, she said.
Officers were assisted by the Montgomery County Sheriffβs Office and Metro Transit Police, who combed the area and nearby Metro trains.
