Baltimore Police said a 15-year-old boy has turned himself in to face first-degree murder charges in the shooting death of a girl in February.

Authorities said 15-year-old Tyonna Pierce was found with a gunshot wound in the 2100 block of Druid Hill Avenue on Feb. 15. She was transported to a hospital, where she died.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect on May 20, and he turned himself into authorities on May 23, police said in a news release.

The announcement follows a violent 24-hour stretch in Baltimore that left two people dead and three others wounded in a series of incidents that included three shootings and a late-night fatal stabbing.

The numbers of homicides and shootings in Baltimore so far this year are slightly lower than was reported in 2025.
