A motorcyclist died early Sunday after colliding with another motorcyclist he was riding with in Rockville, Montgomery County Police said.

The crash occurred about 1:16 a.m. at the intersection of Norbeck Road and Hannans Way. Two Honda motorcycles were traveling together westbound on Norbeck Road when they made contact with each other, causing both riders to lose control, police said.

One of the riders, an unidentified man, was declared dead at the scene. The other rider remained at the scene and was uninjured, police said.

The police department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating. More information is expected to be released later, including the name of the motorcyclist who died.
