Baltimore Police said this week they had arrested a suspect in a fatal stabbing near Lexington Market, and were searching for a suspect in a fatal shooting in Pigtown.

Police said a news release they had arrested 30-year-old James Harrison of Owings Mills in the fatal stabbing of Roderick Fitzgerald, 48, on Sunday in the 300 block of West Saratoga Street, near the historic market.

Harrison was arrested Thursday in the 300 block of North Eutaw Street and transported to Central Booking. He is charged with first- and second-degree murder and assault, police said.

In a separate incident, police said a man was fatally shot in the 500 block of Callender Street in the Pigtown community on Thursday.

Officers who responded around 5:30 p.m. found a 25-year-old man who had been shot several times. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
