Severe thunderstorms, damaging winds and heavy rain could dash Saturday night plans for a second time this month, though the risk is much lower this weekend.

From mid-afternoon through the evening, the Baltimore area and eastern Maryland are under a marginal risk of a severe storm, said Kyle Pallozzi, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. He added that the risk is about a one out of five on the weather service scale of severe storm threats.

Heavy rain could see some flash flooding to the area, but again, the risk is lower for Marylanders, Pallozzi said, though meteorologists would “keep an eye” on things this evening.
