The weekend ahead is expected to be a hot and sticky one in Charm City.

While temperatures may be in the 90s, Andrew Snyder, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said it should feel a bit more like 100 degrees with the added humidity on Saturday. It will be just under the criteria for extreme heat alerts.

Like earlier this week, Marylanders can expect some strong to severe thunderstorms on Saturday afternoon, Snyder said. The storms could roll in as early as 1 p.m. and continue through 6 p.m.

Sunday should feel a little less muggy, though the heat index will likely remain in the 90s, according to the weather service. Chances of thunderstorms will be lower on Sunday as well. The rest of the week should bring some typical summer temperatures and possible thunderstorms in the afternoons.
