Playwright Regina Taylor presents "Crowns," a moving and celebratory musical play that highlights the beauty and brilliance of the traditional Black church. Through a blend of gospel, poetry and dance, "Crowns" is a musical play about honoring your roots, finding your groove and embracing your own style. A color-conscious community theater is producing the musical, which is based off a book of portraits of Black women in their church hats.
