COLUMN; Over an 18-season span, John Harbaugh's flexible, delegation-heavy approach gave him the freedom and energy to coach where he was needed. But the CEO style is rarely as successful, meaning it may not be repeated when the Ravens hire his successor.
“I think it was the right move, but it’s still bittersweet,” one fan said. “He is a great coach and had a lot of success, but it seemed like some change was needed.”
As the Ravens seek a replacement for the 63-year-old John Harbaugh, age might not just be a number. It could be a key criterion for owner Steve Bisciotti.
President Donald Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, in support of John Harbaugh, whom the Ravens recently fired. Harbaugh visited Trump at the White House in July 2025.
In his own statement released by the team, Harbaugh said he was obviously disappointed by the decision, but he also had “GRATITUDE & APPRECIATION” for the Ravens organization.
