Baltimore Circuit Judge John Addison Howard said it would be a “miscarriage of justice” to impose a harsh sentence for Tracie Minor, 36, of Mondawmin, a former educator who accidentally dropped her bag containing a loaded handgun at KIPP Harmony Academy in West Baltimore on Dec. 21, 2023.
Tracie Minor, 36, of Mondawmin, a former teacher’s assistant at KIPP Harmony Academy, pleaded guilty on March 6 in Baltimore Circuit Court to carrying a loaded handgun. Circuit Judge John Addison Howard then struck the guilty finding and placed her on three years’ unsupervised probation. “It would appear to the court that Miss Minor has suffered in substantial ways well beyond what most people who appear before me have experienced in terms of negative impact on their lives,” Howard said.
