Maryvale Prep’s Samantha Elliott (25) and Libby Potter (3) had 18 kills each to lead the No. 9 Lions past Mount de Sales, 3-0, in Thursday’s IAAM A Conference volleyball semifinal. The victory sets up a title-game showdown Sunday at 6 p.m. at Stevenson University between the defending champion Lions and No. 9 Archbishop Spalding, the only A Conference team to beat them this season.

Tyler Brown helped Archbishop Spalding claim another MIAA A Conference football victory Friday evening. The junior defensive back intercepted a McDonogh pass and returned it 13 yards for a touchdown, starting a 21-0 run for the No. 2 Cavaliers in a 45-12 victory over 11th-ranked McDonogh in Anne Arundel County.
