Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken has signed a contract extension, the team announced Monday, and will return for a third season in Baltimore. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Monken interviewed for the Chicago Bears' and Jacksonville Jaguars' head coaching vacancies last month after overseeing the NFL’s best offense, but was not a finalist for either job.

With All-Pro quarterback Lamar Jackson and much of the offense set to return, Monken should again have the foundation for an elite attack in 2025.

“He’s a really good football coach,” coach John Harbaugh said at last month’s season-ending news conference. “He’s an old-school football coach with kind of a new-school and creative mind. Always creating. He works well with his staff. We have a great staff around him, so because of that, it would be very meaningful if and when we get him back, and we continue [moving] forward. I really am excited about ‘3.0,’ that iteration of this offense going forward.”

The Ravens finished first in the NFL in yards per play and overall offensive efficiency last season, according to FTN. Led by Jackson, who’s expected to be awarded his third NFL Most Valuable Player award on Thursday, the Ravens became the first team in league history to post 4,000 passing yards and 3,000 rushing yards in a single season.

Monken, who turns 59 on Wednesday, has impressed coaches and players with his schematic versatility and humble approach.

“I think you’ve seen the growth from Year 1 to Year 2,” Pro Bowl fullback Patrick Ricard said last month. “We were so balanced this year. We could do everything, attack anybody any way. He is great to be around. He is a fun coach to play for. He knows how to be serious but also knows how to keep the room light, but also able to get feedback from everybody.”

The Ravens also hired Tyler Santucci as their linebackers coach. Santucci, 36, who replaces Mark DeLeone, served as Georgia Tech’s defensive coordinator last season and as Duke’s in 2023.

Under Santucci, the Blue Devils improved from 57th nationally in defensive efficiency, according to ESPN’s Football Power Index, to 27th in 2023. The Yellow Jackets moved from 74th to 58th in 2024, bolstered by a run defense that turned from the ACC’s worst into a top-five unit in the conference.

“We are excited about the addition of Tyler, who has excelled as a collegiate coach and is fully prepared to make the jump to this level,” Harbaugh said in a statement. “Tyler’s knowledge, passion and collaborative qualities fit seamlessly within the culture of our coaching staff, and we’re excited for him to lead our linebackers group.”
