Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been ruled of Sunday’s AFC North opener against the Cleveland Browns, coach Jesse Minter said Friday.

It’s the second straight game Jackson will miss. He was sidelined for Sunday’s win over the Atlanta Falcons and hasn’t practiced since he sprained an ankle in the Ravens’ Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 4. Minter on Wednesday called Jackson “definitely day-to-day,”

With Jackson unavailable, backup Tyler Huntley will make his second straight start and third in the Ravens’ past eight games, dating to the end of last season. Huntley went 24-for-32 for 201 yards and two touchdowns and had a rushing touchdown as he helped lead the Ravens’ comeback in Atlanta.

“He’s a really good player,” Minter said of Huntley, who’s 6-6 as a Ravens starter over six seasons. “And he’s got a great demeanor. And he’s got great poise. He’s got great respect amongst his teammates. ... He’s just got a cool, calm, collected, confident [demeanor]. To me, that’s infectious. And when he’s in there, that’s kind of how the guys feel. And it’s really no different with Lamar.”

Center Cam Jurgens, who was in line to make his Ravens debut Sunday after being acquired in a trade last week, has also been ruled out. Minter indicated that Jurgens remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol. He was limited in practice this week while he wore a red, noncontact pinnie.

Rookie Vega Ioane is expected to make his third straight start at center. Emery Jones Jr. (ankle) or Andrew Vorhees (foot), both of whom were limited in practice this week, will start at right guard.

“We have a ton of confidence in the offensive line that we’ll put out there,” Minter said. “And then we’ll be super excited when he [Jurgens] gets a chance to join the lineup.”

Rookie tight end Matt Hibner will also miss Sunday’s game. He hurt his left hand Sunday against the Falcons, missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and watched practice Friday while wearing a cast and street clothes. Hibner, who has five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown and has played 42.7% of the team’s offensive snaps, is not expected to miss much time, Minter said.

Outside linebacker Trey Hendrickson, who hasn’t played since Week 3 because of an operation on a broken finger, is expected to return Sunday. He was a full participant Wednesday and Thursday, and Minter said there’s little risk of re-injury. Hendrickson said after practice Thursday that the team was still deciding on how he would protect his hand.

“I’m excited for him to be feeling better,” Minter said. “I think we’ll get a chance to see what he can bring to our defense.”

Rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane, who hasn’t played since suffering a Week 1 wrist injury, had a “great week,” Minter said. The third-round pick is expected to be activated off injured reserve ahead of Sunday’s game.

The Browns ruled out five players, including backup running back Dylan Sampson. Starting running back Quinshon Judkins (ankle), starting defensive lineman Mason Graham (knee/ankle) and starting linebacker Carson Schwesinger (ankle) are questionable. Starting rookie wide receiver KC Concepcion, who was knocked out of the Browns’ loss Sunday to the New York Jets, cleared the NFL’s concussion protocol and will play Sunday.
