Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is questionable to return to Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans after hurting his ankle late in the first half.
Jackson was tripped up from behind as he tried to scramble away from Titans defensive end Jermaine Johnson. Jackson got up easily but appeared to grimace as he walked over to the sideline.
Jackson started to limp closer to the team’s sideline and sat on the bench. There, he met with the team’s medical staff and headed to the locker room early, before kicker Tyler Loop hit a 64-yard field goal as time expired to extend the Ravens’ lead to 24-7.
Jackson, who’s 15-for-20 for 222 yards and two touchdowns, returned from the second half with his helmet off, an indication that he was not prepared to play.
Quarterback Tyler Huntley replaced Jackson to start the third quarter.
Starting cornerback Marlon Humphrey also left the game in the first half. He was at first ruled questionable to return with a calf injury but was downgraded to out after halftime.
Humphrey dealt with a calf injury through last season during which he struggled to perform at the level he had the previous season. He has spoken about not meeting his own expectations and wanting to have a stronger season this year.
Without Humphrey, the Ravens relied on veteran cornerback Chidobe Awuzie as an outside cornerback. If Humphrey misses extended time, the Ravens could look to cornerback Bilhal Kone, who is working his way back from an injury.
The Ravens also lost Andrew Vorhees, who started at right guard with Vega Ioane now at center. He injured his foot in the late second quarter and was later ruled out.
Second-year lineman Emery Jones Jr. stepped in to play right guard.
Tight end Durham Smythe, signed in the offseason for his blocking, was injured during a run by Derrick Henry halfway through the third quarter.
He tried to hop off the field but only made it to the numbers on the Ravens’ side of the field. Smythe went straight to the injury tent after trainers helped him off the field and then to the locker room. He was declared out with an Achilles injury.
