Major League Baseball released the 2027 schedule Thursday, which may be an optimistic decision considering the potential for a lockout that could impact it.
But assuming no games are impacted because of the prolonged negotiations over a new collective bargaining agreement, the Orioles would begin the season on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays on March 25.
The schedule release does not include game times yet, but here are five things to know from the 162-game 2027 slate.
The home opener
Opening day will take place on the road, with three games at Tropicana Field from March 25 through March 27. After a day off Sunday, March 28, the Orioles will head north to Camden Yards.
The home opener takes place Monday, March 29 against the Toronto Blue Jays, and there’s a built-in off day Tuesday, March 30, in case weather forces a change. That three-game divisional series includes games on March 31 and April 1.
The holidays
Once again, July 4 will be spent away from home. The Orioles play the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park on the United States’ birthday.
There are other holidays at home, however.
Mother’s Day will feature a home game against the Chicago White Sox on May 9. Memorial Day will be Monday, May 31, with the New York Mets in town. And Labor Day will be Monday, Sept. 6, with a home game against the Rays.
Father’s Day (June 20) and Juneteenth (June 19) are when the Orioles are on the road at the Texas Rangers.
The finale
The Orioles and Yankees will tangle again during the last series of the year. In 2025 and 2026, the final series of the season were at Yankee Stadium. In 2027, the Yankees are scheduled to finish up at Camden Yards.
That series will take place Sept. 24, 25 and 26 — a Friday through Sunday.
That series could have massive implications. The Orioles aren’t an American League East contender this year, but perhaps Baltimore can be back in the mix next year.
Like every year, Baltimore plays four series against each American League East team. That consists of 13 games against each team.
The long road trips
Fancy a summer trip? Fans can follow the Orioles on a trio of three-city road trips in 2027.
Ahead of the All-Star break, the Orioles embark on the first of their three-city trips by going to Boston (July 2-4), Detroit (July 5-8) and Tampa Bay (July 9-11).
In August, Baltimore plays in three cities with no off day in that stretch: at Houston (Aug. 10-12), Atlanta (Aug. 13-15) and New York against the Yankees (Aug. 16-18).
And then the Orioles finish the month and head into early September with a 10-game stretch against Toronto (Aug. 27-29), Boston (Aug. 30-Sept. 2) and Minnesota (Sept. 3-5).
The Beltway Series
The Washington Nationals and Orioles will play six games against each other next year, and it begins early.
Baltimore heads to Nationals Park May 25-27 for the first series. And after the All-Star break, Washington plays at Camden Yards on July 16-18.
The 2025 Beltway Series is already finished, with the Nationals taking four of the six games. Washington boasts one of the best offenses in baseball this year; the Nationals could be a rising force in the majors while the Orioles have teetered the last two seasons.
