A little rain didn’t keep Wilde Lake from a breakthrough day at Fairway Hills Golf Club in Columbia on Wednesday afternoon.

The Wildecats swept Hammond, getting season-best scores from both the boys and girls squads. For the boys, it was the team’s first official team victory since the 2019 season.

Led by Henry Hilger’s 25 points (2-over par) under Howard County’s Modified Stableford Scoring system, Wilde Lake’s boys defeated Hammond by a score of 47-22.

The girls were even better, as all three of the team’s players achieved personal best scores on the way to a 65-9 win over the Golden Bears. Jane Mhonda scored 25 points, Laurel Sands 21 and Lindsey Sands 19.
