Towson seniors Brigid Vaikness (12) and Averry Briggs (9) played key roles in leading the No. 11 Generals to a 13-4 victory over Catonsville in the Class 3A state girls lacrosse semifinals Wednesday evening. Vaikness took the draw, helping the Generals dominate possession especially in the first half. Briggs scored three goals and had four assists to boost the Generals into the state quarterfinals for the first time since 2008.
