MOM’s Organic Market is getting a second location in Baltimore next spring.
The popular organic grocer will anchor Gittings Marketplace at 6300 York Road, according to a news release Tuesday. The store is expected to open in spring 2027 and will operate from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
MOM’s Organic Market will sit alongside eateries like Five Guys and Qdoba at Gittings Marketplace. Mark Renbaum, the CEO of Schwaber Holdings, which owns Gittings Marketplace, said in the release that the company is excited to add MOM’s as the strip mall’s new anchor.
“A quality grocer is the heartbeat of any neighborhood shopping center, and MOM’s will give residents a convenient place to shop every day and continue to bring a sense of community to the surrounding community,” he said.
A Trader Joe’s is coming just up the road at the Anneslie Shopping Center.
They join a handful of other grocery stores in the area, including a Giant at nearby York Road Plaza. There’s also a Shoppers at Alameda Marketplace and an Aldi at Loch Raven Plaza, both within a few miles of the new MOM’s.

MOM’s Organic Market was founded in Rockville in 1987 by Scott Nash and has since expanded to seven states and Washington, D.C. There are currently a dozen MOM’s Organic Market stores in Maryland.
“We’re excited to continue expanding our presence in the greater Baltimore area and bring our unique approach to organic grocery shopping to even more residents,” Nash, the founder and CEO, said in a news release.
The announcement comes after issues at other MOM’s locations in Maryland this year, including a rodent infestation that briefly shuttered the Hampden store and a controversial employee mask ban.
In August, the grocery chain prohibited employees from wearing masks, face coverings and face obstructions on the job as part of a focus on “delivering the best possible customer experience and ensuring open, welcoming interactions between our employees and the customers we serve,” according to an internal document shared with The Banner.
After pushback, the company clarified that employees with disabilities are excused from the “broader dress code update” and don’t have to provide a doctor’s note for exemptions. Employees told The Banner that exemptions from the mask ban would be at the discretion of the store’s manager.
MOM’s Organic Market did not respond to a request for comment on how the employee mask ban will be applied at the new location.
