BTS fans in Maryland will have to wait until August to catch the juggernaut K-pop group in person (in Baltimore), but there’s a way to watch their world tour opening this weekend.
Five movie theaters in Montgomery County are offering live broadcast viewings of the BTS world tour, tied to the newly released album, “Arirang.”
“This is the first time BTS has been together in a while, so it’ll definitely be something,” said John Gruber, manager at AMC Montgomery in Bethesda. The five-time Grammy-nominated group is coming off a four-year hiatus.
Gruber likened the broadcast event to other “big hit” music experiences AMC has hosted, including Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour movie and K-pop group Stray Kids’ concert film in February.
Other participating Montgomery County theaters are Landmark Bethesda Row Cinema, Cinepolis Gaithersburg, Regal Majestic in Silver Spring and AMC Rio in Gaithersburg. Showings are at 4 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., with most tickets going for $35.
