This week’s list of things to do in Baltimore County is an especially zany one. Here are seven events for the week ending Wednesday, Feb. 25.
Taylor Swift and the Torah
Thursday, 7 p.m.
What can Taylor Swift teach us about the Torah? Join a self-proclaimed Super-Swiftie at The Soul Center, 8101 Park Heights Ave. in Pikesville, for a discussion exploring how Swift’s lyrics echo ancient Jewish teachings and speak to our innermost selves. Tickets are available for $18.
Black History Month trivia
Friday, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Head to Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum, off Oella Avenue in Catonsville, for a Black History Month trivia night. The event includes access to the recently reopened museum. A food truck and brewery also will be on site. Tickets are $3, and seats are limited.
Chili cook-off
Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Harley-Davidson of Baltimore, on Pulaski Highway in Middle River, is hosting a chili cook-off, inviting home cooks to show off their best spicy, smoky or secret family recipes. Guests are invited to taste the entries and vote for their favorites.
Bingo with a vibe
Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Who knew bingo could be such a vibe? Rhythm & Bingo at LoonAsea restaurant at 207 Nanticoke Road in Essex will feature a D.J., prizes and six rounds of bingo. The event is open to guests 21 and older. Tickets are available for $20.
Anti-Valentine’s dance party
Saturday, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Heavy Seas Beer in Halethorpe invites you to ditch the roses and embrace the eyeliner for emo prom, described as the ultimate anti-Valentine’s Day dance party. A D.J. will play hits by My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Paramore and more, and guests can take pictures in a heartbreak photo booth.
The event at the brewery at 4615 Hollins Ferry Road is open to people ages 21 and up. Tickets are available for $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
′80s tribute band
Saturday, doors open at 7 p.m.
Dust off your neon, tease your hair and head to The Recher on York Road in downtown Towson for a performance by the Legwarmers, the ultimate ’80s tribute band. The show is open to guests 21 and older. Advance tickets are available for $27.95.
National Margarita Day
Sunday
Did you know Sunday is National Margarita Day? Celebrate at State Fare, a Catonsville restaurant at 748 Frederick Road that is serving up margarita specials all day.
