Boyz II Men and singer-songwriter Case will headline the fifth annual Charm City Live music festival on Sept. 5, Mayor Brandon Scott announced Tuesday.
DJ Keebee, Uncle E, DJ Tanz and Porkchop will also play sets at the free one-day event that takes place from noon to 9 p.m. at the War Memorial Plaza.
The festival will have a job fair as well as an expanded kid zone for families. The event will also showcase businesses and local entrepreneurs participating in the Baltimore Development Corporation’s Made in Baltimore program, Scott said.
“Events like this impact small businesses, impact restaurants,” said Kevin Seawright, vice president of the BDC. “It’s really great to be a part of it.”
Hailed as one of the most commercially successful R&B groups of all time, Boyz II Men is a Grammy Award-winning vocal group known for their passionate ballads, including record-breaking hits such as “End of the Road” and “I’ll Make Love to You.”
Singer-songwriter Case is known for his ’90s hits “Touch Me, Tease Me” and “Happily Ever After,” as well as his collaborations with Ja Rule like “Livin’ It Up.”
In the early 2000s, his song “Missing You” earned him a Grammy nomination.
Charm City Live will be the last city-hosted music event of the summer.
“This festival is about celebrating Baltimore and bringing our city together as we close out the festival season,” Scott said at a press conference.
