A driver allegedly trying to flee Baltimore Police after a traffic stop in Fells Point crashed an SUV into Bunny’s Buckets and Bubbles late Friday night, slamming through the side of the corner restaurant after striking two other vehicles, police said.
The restaurant said in an Instagram post that the crash happened around 11 p.m., and no one was seated at the table beside the impacted wall at the time.
“This is very crazy,” the post said. “So happy no one was sitting on the bench or on the sidewalk when this happened.”
Baltimore Police said at approximately 10:46 p.m., Entertainment District Officers saw a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed with no headlights on in the 700 block of Broadway. The vehicle then stopped and attempted to park in a non-parking location.
Officers initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, who officers learned was picking up an order for a food delivery company.
As officers asked for the driver’s license and registration, the driver allegedly sped away, striking two vehicles before crashing into the building in the 800 block of South Ann Street. The driver then attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended, police said.

The driver, a 24-year-old woman, was arrested and transported to Central Booking. A 6-year-old, who was inside the vehicle, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
An inspector was called to assess the building, and all of the vehicles were towed from the location.
All that was left behind was some rubble and a hole in the wall.
Photos and a video from Bunny’s Buckets and Bubbles showed an SUV lodged into the side of the gray building on the corner of South Ann and Lancaster streets. Nearby are other popular restaurants and bars that bring out crowds on the weekends.
The restaurant was about an hour from closing when the crash happened. It opened on Saturday for its regular hours.
