Al Rosas, the co-owner of Bella’s Tea Room, thought someone was pranking him when, about a month ago, a staffer said a producer for an HBO show wanted to film at the Havre de Grace business.

Researching the producer’s name and the project — neither of which he was able to share — is what made him return the call. Now, on Sunday, guests at the pink, flower-filled venue have the chance to be in the background of this reality show.

Bella’s Tea Room is a cafe and event space known for its specialty teas and pastries.

Crews will film between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Bella’s Tea Room has filled all 39 seats with reservations, Rosas said.

“People don’t know who it is, but they want to be around it,” he said.

Rosas hopes the show benefits not only his family’s business but also the Havre de Grace community in Harford County. Rosas suggests that visitors who feel compelled to visit after seeing the show should stop by Bella’s for high tea, shop at antique stores, eat at local restaurants and enjoy the waterfront views.

Last year, one of those restaurants also got the reality-show treatment. Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, known for shows like “Hell’s Kitchen” and “MasterChef,” filmed at MacGregor’s Restaurant and Tavern in Havre de Grace last spring, which some say was a boost for the community.
