A 34-year-old woman died early Friday after her vehicle collided with a tractor trailer along Interstate 95 in Baltimore County, Maryland State Police said.

Francesca and Gregory Lloyd, both of Nottingham, were traveling in a Subaru Outback just before 3 a.m. Friday, authorities said in a news release. Gregory Lloyd, 31, who was driving, struck the rear of a tractor trailer that was attempting to pull onto the right shoulder of the highway to deal with a flat tire.

The couple were transported to a hospital, where Francesca Lloyd died. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. Police said impairment may have been a contributing factor to the crash.

According to her Facebook page, the couple were married in June 2025. She leaves behind two sons.

Lloyd’s death comes a little over a week after another fatal crash, along Interstate 695 in Baltimore County. A 17-year-old boy was fatally struck by a Honda Accord while trying to change the tire of a Lexus IS that he was a passenger in, police said.

There have been 245 fatal crashes across Maryland this year, compared to 289 around this time in 2025, according to data from the state Highway Safety Office. Baltimore County has had the third-most fatal crashes, 30, after Prince George’s County’s 38 and Montgomery County’s 31, state data shows.
