Anne Arundel County Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle that fatally struck a 54-year-old man on Sunday night and then left the scene.

Steven Joseph Reynolds of Severna Park was struck by an SUV while walking in the crosswalk along Magothy Bridge Road, county police said in a news release. Emergency personnel responded to the scene around 10:25 p.m. and transported Reynolds to a hospital, where he died, officials said.

The driver was traveling northbound on Ritchie Highway when they struck Reynolds, according to police. The driver, who police said was likely operating a black Land Rover model L462, pulled into the Magothy Gateway shopping center parking lot before continuing on Ritchie Highway, leaving the scene.

Police say the vehicle likely has a damaged right-side headlight and is missing a right-front fender, a passenger-side mirror and front wheel well trim.
