A moped driver died after he crashed into a brick wall and was thrown from his vehicle on Thursday night, police said.
The Baltimore Police Department said officers attempted to pull over the driver, a 20-year-old man, along with another moped driver on 100 block of North Eutaw Street shortly before the crash.
The man fled while the second driver stopped, police said, adding that the officers did not chase the 20-year-old who took off.
Less than a mile away, the man crashed his moped into a brick wall at the 600 block of West Franklin Street in the Seton Hill neighborhood around 11:25 p.m., according to a news release from the police department.
He was taken to the hospital where he later died. The name of the man was not immediately released.
