Massive early-morning fire tears through commercial garage in Middle River

Flames engulfed a commercial garage in Middle River early Saturday, fire officials said.

Fire crews received a call around 1:55 a.m. for a large structure fire in the 500 block of Earls Road, said Capt. Len Stewart of the Baltimore County Fire Department. Firefighters found a 50-by-30-foot “fully involved” garage fire, he said.

The one-alarm fire was under control by 2:40 a.m., Stewart said. No one was inside and no injuries were reported, he added.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Photos shared by the fire department showed flames bursting through all sides of the garage. A forklift, trucking container and industrial materials are around the burning structure.

It was not immediately clear who owns the garage.
