A 62-year-old pedestrian died after a collision involving a Jeep Wrangler, Montgomery County Police said in a statement Thursday.
Officers responded to the area of Arctic Avenue and Bel Pre Road, west of Leisure World, at about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday and found the woman suffering from serious injuries.
The driver of the Jeep had left the scene, and the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
A witness gave police a description of the Jeep and its license plate.
The Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
