A woman was killed after crossing the street in Rockville with her son on Monday night, Montgomery County Police said.

The incident happened about 8:25 p.m. near Chapman Avenue and Twinbrook Parkway, Montgomery County Police said in a social media post.

The woman was pronounced dead at a hospital. The woman’s son was also struck and was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Police said the driver of the vehicle involved is cooperating with investigators.
