Baltimore Police arrested a woman last week on a child abuse charge, more than a year after officers found her infant son malnourished and suffering from head trauma.
Taylor Williams, 20, was charged with first-degree child abuse in connection with the death of her 2-month-old son, Malik Woodard, police said.
The charges come more than a year after officers responded to the intersection of Loch Raven Boulevard and Gorsuch Avenue in August 2025 for a report of a nonbreathing infant and rushed Malik to the Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he later died.
A subsequent autopsy revealed that Malik “died from head trauma, severe dehydration, and malnutrition,” which prompted a deeper investigation and Williams’ eventual arrest, police said.
