A Gaithersburg man is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, Montgomery County Police said Friday.

Sean Robinson, 39, was arrested Thursday.

He is accused of killing 37-year-old Ashlei Jones. She was found dead Sunday inside the apartment the couple shared in the 8500 block of Snouffer School Road.

An autopsy determined Jones died of multiple sharp-force injuries, police said.

Robinson was jailed at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. He was held without bond during a court hearing Friday, according to court records.

It was not immediately clear if he had retained an attorney.
