Police are investigating an apparent white supremacist note that was discovered in Fells Point, officials said.
Baltimore Police officers responded around noon on Friday to the 1600 block of Thames Street after a report of a suspicious package, department spokesperson Vernon Davis said in an email.
The officers met with a woman who said she was watering flowers when she came upon a clear plastic bag filled with rocks and a note.
Davis said the note contained threatening language and referenced the “Sacred White Knights,” which, according to the Anti-Defamation League, are an offshoot of the Ku Klux Klan.
The Southern Poverty Law Center labels the Sacred White Knights a white supremacist hate group that traces its roots to the KKK. The group is based in Pelham, North Carolina.
Officers recovered the plastic bag and its contents as evidence, Davis said.
Davis said investigators reviewed CCTV footage, which revealed a silver Jeep traveling through the area around 2:30 a.m. with one or more occupants discarding objects.
