A man and a woman are dead after a shooting in Southwest Baltimore early Friday morning, police said.
Officers responded to a shooting around 12:49 a.m. at the 1800 block of West Lexington Street in Franklin Square, according to a news release from the Baltimore Police Department. Police said officers found a 22-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The two were taken to the hospital where they later died, according to the release.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
The shooting puts the total amount of homicides this year in Baltimore at 35, down from 43 at the same time last year. There have been 99 nonfatal shootings this year as well, down from 109 at this time in 2025.
