A: A $1.5 billion structural deficit was cut for the fiscal 2027 budget. To keep from killing the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future education plan, significant changes to the high-cost parts of the blueprint must be implemented and regulated; we might look at forming new tax brackets and continue to consider how gaming, racing, and cannabis sales can be used.
A: Lowering the cost of living: affordable housing; utility costs; education (blueprint and childcare costs); healthcare costs.
A: Find creative ways and places to build affordable homes; creating housing, transportation hubs; continue to find ways to cut utility costs; work with pharmaceutical companies and health insurers to shave costs, particularly for the poor and elderly.
A: I have scrutinized the blueprint and feel significant adjustments can be made to lower the cost while maintaining the integrity of the instructional components. I am hopeful it will be reviewed soon.
