Two people were injured after an auto repair shop caught fire and the flames spread to a residential building on Thursday morning near Clifton Park, according to the Baltimore City Fire Department.

One person in the repair shop at 2001 N. Rose St. was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, said John Marsh, a spokesperson for the city’s fire department. A firefighter suffered non-life-threatening injuries while battling the fire at the residential building at 2003 N. Rose St., Marsh said.

The fire started around 10:45 a.m. and escalated to a three-alarm blaze, according to the Baltimore City Fire Department. The fire was contained just before noon, Marsh said, but firefighters were still working to extinguish it.
